4 simple ways to reduce sweat marks at work

We've all done it. Tried to hide our sweat marks at work. Whether it was running to the bathroom to dry our pits with paper towels, sitting under the air conditioner for an extended period of time, or worse, bringing a second dress shirt to wear.

Trying to look calm and composed while sweating through your shirt is like trying to make a free throw with your pants down. Even if you make it, everyone was paying attention to your fruit of the loom boxers. So what are we to do? Here are 5 ways you can reduce those embarrassing sweat marks and start gaining your confidence back.

1 . Stop wearing the color grey

Grey is the absolute worst color you can wear if you want people to avoid looking at your sweat marks. There are other colors to add to the sweat stain list such as mustard yellow, blue, or any pastel color but Grey is the enemy. Why? It shows sweat more so than any other color. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. Or better yet, don’t.

2. Avoid hot drinks or foods in the office

Drinking hot beverages or foods raises your internal body temperature and makes you prone to sweating. Examples include, tea, coffee, or spicy foods. If you have to have your morning coffee or tea, try iced coffee or cooled down tea. Another idea could be to take a small hand towel to your workplace and leave it your office fridge or freezer. When you feel hot, take it out and put it on your neck for a quick body temperature cool down.

3. Take off that suit jacket or coat when you don’t need it on.

Wearing thick suit coats or jackets warms your body and thus, sweat is needed to cool your body. Check your daily calendar, if you have no important meetings coming up, hang that jacket and stay cool, calm, and collected. Rolling up your sleeves is also a quick way to get some cool air on your hot skin.

4. Avoid fabrics that don’t breathe well.
